Online Shoppers Still Unprotected, Study Shows
A research sponsored by Oracle revealed that a significant number of online shoppers are exploring the web unprotected. The study showed 70 percent of online consumers attribute web mishaps to themselves, failing to personally take responsibility over their online security.Less than 25 percent of the shoppers polled pointed website or technology for security issues as the main reason for online security flaws. About 66 percent wanted heightened online security, however most are hesitant for fear of experiencing slow transactions.
Oracle’s report stated consumers had “no desire” to know more about IT security. Most shoppers care to have comfortable experience online rather than transact safely and go through a lot of security steps which, at times, could be really annoying.
