MIllions Contest Facebook's New Design

Almost 2.7 million Facebook users have expressed dissent over the site's new design. A Facebook group was even formed calling for a boycott on the social networking site as a way of getting their message clear to Facebook makers.


The group, known as 1,000,000 against the new Facebook layout," is urging its supporters not to access the site during the weekend of Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. Another organization opposed to Facebook's move, dubbed as "Petition Against the New Facebook", has already gathered more than 1.6 million backers. In addition, the group "I hate the new Facebook", has 1.5 million supporters.

Though Facebook has around 100 million active users, the number of people who broached reluctance over the new face of the site still proved to count significantly. Facebook has been keeping an eye of the opposing groups and tracking their complaints. It has also started communicating with the groups leaders in hopes of having a smooth transition with the changes made in the web site.
