Man Pleads Guilty Over Hacking Spree

A man from Hampton, New Hampshire pleaded guilty of bank account hacking, by which he earned around $112,000.
Alexey Mineev is alleged to have created "drop accounts" to cover up fraudulent activities back in 2007. Based on court documents, Mineev helped in raking large amount of money from brokerage accounts through installing a Trojan horse program on PCs of bank account holders.

Authorities claimed Mineev teamed up with Alexander Bobnev to carry out the scheme. The money they've stolen is believed to have been transferred to Russia through Western Unioun and other businesses offering similar services.

Both Mineev and Bobnev were charged on November 5 of last year. Another conspirator, Akeksey Volynskiy, was also pinned down by the U.S. Department of Justice for creating drop accounts and money laundering.

Alexey Mineev is facing up to two years of imprisonment and could pay a maximum of $40, 000. He agreed to return the $112,000 he earned from the scam in exchange of his guilty plea.
