International Fraud Web Site Closed Down

A disreputable website dealing credit card information has been closed down by an international operation.


Several people behind the operation of the website were apprehended by the British Serious Organized Crime Agency in DarkMarket in Leicester, Manchester, Humberside, South Yorkshire and London. The same kind of operation was executed by intelligence agencies in the US, Germany, and Turkey.



Around 60 people were arrested in the four countries throughout the corresponding maneuvers. Authorities claim that the website  is promoting identity-theft related sales, which includes trading card information and PIN numbers. The probe on the site began in 2006 when FBI agents in the US started monitoring members of the online community. The agents  passed off as site administrators to collect details about the internet users who visit the site to carry out illicit activities.
