Hackers Breach Apache Site
Open source group Apache Software Foundation is the latest victim of cyber criminals who caused a major downtime on its website.The hackers exploited the SSH key for one of its servers which resulted to the website outage that lasted for several hours.
Trend Micro senior security advisor Rik Ferguson noted, "Details of the attack/compromise are few at the moment, as this is breaking news.”
"It is worth remembering however that a compromised SSH key led to in-the-wild exploitation of Linux based systems exactly this time last year, for the purposes of installing rootkits."
