Gary McKinnon Fails to Bring His Trial Back in UK

Gary McKinnon failed his bid to bring his trial back in the UK.  The world reknowned hacker is now facing a tough trial in the US.

McKinnon was widely supported by London mayor Boris Johnson but that didn't stop his extradtion to the US. Among his other supporters were the Daily Mail and a number of MPs.

McKinnon was accused of hacking 97 United States military and NASA computers in 2001 and 2002, using the name 'Solo'. The computer networks he is alleged of breaching include networks owned by NASA, the US Army, US Navy, Department of Defense, and the US Air Force.

Historically, McKinnon had appealed to the home secretary, the European Court of Human Rights and the Crown Prosecution Service to face sentencing in the UK. All attempts failed, prompting him to bring the matter to the High Court. The court ruled against his appeal despite arguments of having Asperger's disease.
