Firms Encouraged Reconsidering the Use of Social Networking
Senior threat researcher Greg Day at McAfee urged companies to study the effects of social networking on their business.Day said social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter could benefit business organizations but they need to properly control its usage. These sites could help companies connect with their customers.
"It is a very cheap and efficient way to get your message out to a high volume of people," Day explained.
Although the services have been proven beneficial to businesses, they could also pose some threats. Day enumerated several instances where companies face critical problems because of social networking.
Day suggested that firms lay out specific employee guidelines and corporate standards on the use of social networking services within business premise.
