EDF Refutes Employing Greenpeace Hacker Spies
EDF, a state-controlled French energy company, strongly denies allegations of planting Trojan malware which is capable of reading and storing emails and and keystrokes of French Greenpeace officers.EDF is charged of going beyond what is required by the law in order to monitor eco-activists. However, EDF vehemently denied the allegation and claimed it attempted to secure its installations and people daily to thwart aggressive action at its sites.
"Accordingly, like all industrial enterprises, EDF constantly monitors information that may affect its activity while strictly observing the legal provisions. EDF wholeheartedly condemns any method aimed at obtaining information illegally,” the group explained.
A representative from EDF verified the judicial inquiry was intended for employees who broke legal regulations.
