Data on 30 Million German Phone Users Displayed on the Internet

Classified information on 30 million German phone users were mistakenly posted on the internet giving potential attackers access to millions of unsecured data.  Deutsche Telekom, however, was able to contain the situation and immediately locked access to the information.


Among the data compromised were bank accounts and customer personal information. The company also acknowledged a major data loss last week affecting 17 million T-mobile clients.  Deutsche Telekom, however, maintains, that it is employing a new security policy and that customers should not worry about the safety of their personal information.
