Customer Interaction Delivers Competitive Boost, Gartner Says
According to research firm Gartner, interacting with individual customers can give a competitive boost to companies.Gartner’s report, Context-Aware Computing: A Looming Disruption, identifies context as a powerful tool to boost consumer services and relationships. The report claims that this kind of context-awareness computing can help foster customer relationships and increase new prospects.
"Although the rudiments of context-aware computing have been around for some time, it is a disruptive technology that has the potential to be a real 'game changer' in terms of competitive advantage," Gartner research VP Anne Lapkin said.
"Initial implementations of context-enriched services are already in play, and early adopters will find it easier to implement more sophisticated services in the future."
Gartner’s report further shows that technology is an advantage in context-enriched services.
"Many organisations employ some context-enriched services today. However, while some are quite sophisticated, they tend to be disparate implementations," Lapkin added
