Craigslist Faces Legal Ramifications on Erotic Ads

Craigslist is now battling with the possibility of being banned for tolerating "erotic services" ads posted in the site. State officials blame the recent high-profile murders to Craigslist's so-called negligence.
 

Lisa Madigan, Illinois Attorney General, has demanded that Craigslist's "erotic services" section be closed. She also asked the site to enhance its monitoring process on illicit content. 

 

Madigan said, "The erotic services section of Craigslist is nothing more than an internet brothel. Hopefully it will recognise the problem."

 

Craigslist chief executive Jim Buckmaster is positive the issue will be immediately resolved "while preserving the beneficial aspects of Craigslist... without compromising the quintessentially American values of free speech embodied in our Constitution."
