China Refutes Claims on U.S Power Grid Cyberattack
According to China, the attack on the U.S electrical grid which temporarily shut down the system was not orchestrated by China or Russia."The incident of attacks on the U.S. electrical grid from China and Russia simply does not exist," Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told reporters, according to a transcript of the briefing.
"We hope the concerned media will cautiously handle groundless statements and especially critiques against China."
Attackers did not do much damage to the grid, but they left a software that could somehow cease its operation. China has been the subject of cyber attack allegations as it creates majority of malware operated across the globe. However, attackers could be from any part of the world, using a Chinese IP address.
