Hackers Spread Malware by Using the Haiti Tragedy

After the Haiti tragedy on January 12, hackers haven't let their crowd down and started taking advantage of the popularity of the event. So, malware started being spread through the Internet to affect the IT security of IT services users. Spam and pishing scams started bugging IT connectivity users only two days after the earthquake. Attackers didn't waste any time with regrets and sorrow.

According to the State of the Spam and Phishing Report of February 2010 from IT company Symantec "Both scam and phishing categories doubled in terms of the percentage of all spam in January 2010 compared to December 2009. Phishing attacks are getting more and more targeted in nature and are focused on attacking major brands rather than being mass attacks." The IT company said that the spams were inviting people to donate money on the Internet to bogus entities.
