Cybercrime Brings 599 Million Dollars Losses in 2009

It seems that cybercrime has done it again. This problem has been getting harder and harder to handle. IT connectivity users have to take care of their IT security when surfing the Internet as they might lose important data. Another thing they could do is think about remote backup. According to an FBI-led task force, losses from cybercrime and online scams more than doubled in 2009 to 559 million dollars.

Donald Brackman, director of the National White Collar Crime Center, which runs the Internet Crime Complaint Center with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said that "The figures contained in this report indicate that criminals are continuing to take full advantage of the anonymity afforded them by the Internet. They are also developing increasingly sophisticated means of defrauding unsuspecting consumers. Internet crime is evolving in ways we couldn't have imagined just five years ago." The report came from the IC3 and it said that cybercrime has jumped to 110 percent.
