Comcast Gets IT Security Extensions to DNS

One of the largest IT services provider in the US, IT company Comcast has finally decided to use IT Support in order to get a new technology which protects the internet of attacks. These new measures of IT security take care of hackers that try to get Web surfers on impostor websites. On Tuesday, the IT company said that who wanted to use this technology, DNSSEC, or DNS Security Extensions has to do it on its own.

This means that users have to take care of their own preferences and change their DNS server's IP addresses to 75.75.75.75 and 75.75.76.76. This technology will be available to all users, if everything goes as planned. OpenDNS engineer Matthew Dempsky said "Aside from its lack of adoption, DNSSEC isn't even a very satisfactory solution. It adds tremendous complexity to an already fragile protocol, significantly increases DNS traffic in size, encourages questionable security practices, and hamstrings many modern uses of DNS."
