Little Fish was born out of a back-bedroom, “put an ad in the paper” idea, which has grown, changed and developed into the Managed Service Provider that it is now.
We’re often asked as to how do you retain the personality of your business whilst you grow? It’s a good question but one that we strive to keep at the front of our thoughts.
Our job is pressurised, there is no escaping that. Technology is fundamental in so many different enterprise sectors now that being without it can be crippling. We understand this and feel the pressure of this too, so at times things can be really hard going. But there is nothing better than the feeling when the shift is finished that people have been helped, problems have been solved and the sense of achievement because we’ve all learned something new.
Learning something new happens every day, for all of us! With such variety of requirements, systems, hardware and software, every day there is something that we find a new way of fixing or making work to suit the needs of our clients. Not afraid of research, our team use the knowledge of their peers to find the solutions to the problems – either from our internal team, or the greater team within the organisation or even the web – anything to find resolutions.
Using innovative targets also helps – ever heard of a scratchcard for every member of the team if the number of problems resolved in a day is above a certain number? That’s one of the things that we’ve done before! Setting realistic targets which push the boundaries of the service delivery to the clients, whilst motivating the team is something that we embrace wholly.
Like family? Quite possibly. A good team – definitely.
