Windows 7 May Not Boost IT Support Industry for Long
According to some analysts, the IT support sector may not highly benefit from the release of Windows 7. When the recession hit the industry, experts believed chip manufacturers will suffer financially for several months or even years. However, revenues from memory chips are slowly gaining balance, attributed to the impending circulation of Microsoft’s new operating system.Hardware analyst David Bailey of Goldman Sachs changed his forecasts on computer shipments, seeing a 10 percent increase by 2010. He is also predicting a steady shipment rate this year and a 9 percent boost next year.
Hardware sales are expected to rise as companies need to upgrade to the new OS. Nevertheless, this may be short lived as Windows 7 does not require more hardware resources. IT firms may also need to find new ways to sway into replacing their hardware.
