Weak Government IT Support Remains a Threat to National Security

According to the US House Committee on Homeland Security, the government needs to enhance its IT support. The US IT infrastructure is seen as one of the biggest threats to national security.
 

"These systems are attacked every single day. The fact is, one of these systems is likely being attacked right now," Arizona representative Ann Kirkpatrick said.

 

Kirkpatrick urged the White House and Congress to focus on these threats. President Obama may have guaranteed network security as a top concern of the administration, but no cybersecurity director has been appointed as of yet.

 

 

"We must regain focus, fill these vacant high-level positions and implement a plan to secure our networks before an attack does irreparable harm to our Nation," Kirkpatrick added.
