Online Class Hones Skills of Security Experts

Infoworld is offering a free online class, "Security Boot Camp" to help IT security experts polish their skills. The 20-lesson class is administered through email, giving students one assignment per day. Discussions on how security can be best applied in the real environment are made during each lesson. 
 

Most of todays experts in security and IT support have to update their knowledge and enhance their skills. Infoworld aims to provide professionals with additional learnings with the launch of the online class. 

 

The first week centers on how to tackle security threats like smarter patch management and log file analysis. The next week highlights various ways to advance security practices. The lessons will include means of taking advantage of Windows 7's UAC and reevaluating remote access. The third week focuses on different security strategies and the last one will zero in on hands-on activities about security enhancements.
