Microsoft Helps Endangered Languages
Microsoft Helps Endangered Languages
IT Support will be used by software giant Microsoft which will help save thousands of rare languages. The IT products that will help the IT company in this action are Office, Windows and Visual Studio. These products are going to have some new language packs that will give different communities the possibility to develop IT terminology by using their own language whenever they want to.The decision of Microsoft was made related to UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) for International Mother Language Day 2010, an event that makes us think about the importance of language diversity. According to some statistics, every 14 days a language disappears. The IT company said that “Allowing for people to use and build software in their native language helps emerging markets build a stronger workforce and ultimately better prepares employees to help grow their local economies."
