IT Support Skills Should Be top Priority, BCS Says
According to a British Computer survey, IT support skill is rather important than infrastructure. Around 65 percent of the IT managers polled want to “a greater focus on education at all levels” and “more investment in developing IT skills.”Another 51 percent of the respondents regard commercial focus on IT qualifications as very significant to address particular business needs. About 66 percent of those polled also said that the government’s implementation of faster broadband was the most critical factor in infrastructure.
On the economic level, 54 percent said they see a positive trend on the IT industry, while 64 percent said UK will recover from recession before year 2010 ends.
“Investment in IT education and skills is essential if we are to turn a nascent economic recovery into a long-term competitive advantage. Our ability to process, share and manage information will determine the success of our society,” BCS chief executive David Clarke said.
“To be successful, we need a high performing IT education system and a population with the IT skills to be productive, empowered citizens.”
