IT Support Experts Get Wage Increase
Entry level salaries for IT support professionals have increased, says the latest survey by Excom Education. The survey was responded by 25,000 business organizations based in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Majority of the participants said wages for IT staff have increased by 2,000 on average despite the major financial downturn the industry is facing.
“Along with the salary increase our students are being placed within 2.5 weeks of completing their course – further vindication that the industry is travelling well. Enrolments are still strong. If anything, we have recorded an increased demand for more enrolments for our deluxe and masters programs indicating that students are willing to spend more on their technology education so as to acquire better skills to set them apart from the rest of the pack," said Excom's chief marketing officer, Cassandra Ashworth.
Ashworth points the significant increase to the intensive selection of employees and the willingness of companies to pay for their skills. The survey further revealed that around 70 percent of IT graduates wish they had more experience while at school.
