IT Staff Drought Becomes a Global Problem, RSA Says

According to Art Coviello, president of EMC's security division, RSA, the scarcity of IT security experts is becoming a woldwide snag. RSA is pushing governments throughout the world to prop up information security learning.

Coviello said, "It is a big problem. Security consultants are at a premium."

"We just do not have enough [security] people in the vendor community as well as the public and private sectors," Coviello added.

Coviello also suggested that governments should underwrite research on information security as another means of battling against internet crimes. IT certification organisation (ISC)2 also confirmed the fact that the number of IT support  staff with the expertise in security within business application software is falling off.  The organization announced an IT professional certification programme last September designed to enhance security during the course of the application software life cycle.
