Internet Explorer Flaw Used in Attack Against Google

In an advisory published on Thursday afternoon, IT company McAfee said that Google needed to use IT Support after the attack it had to deal with because of an Internet Explorer flaw. On Tuesday, Google disclosed the attack. Some IT engineers think that flaws in Adobe's Acrobat or reader were involved too, but Adobe said there was no evidence that something like this happened.

"In our investigation we discovered that one of the malware samples involved in this broad attack exploits a new, not publicly known vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer," said McAfee CTO George Kurtz. Google SVP said that "These attacks and the surveillance they have uncovered have led us to conclude that we should review the feasibility of our business operations in China."
