Developers Thrive Despite Decline in IT Salaries
IT salaries might be on a steep decline amidst recession but the demand for developers remains high, according to a new report.IT recruitment company CV Screen assessed the number of job advertisements posted in the Q1 this year, which accounted to 60,000. The firm found out that the average salary of IT support providers is £36,092, while Oracle developers get £39,517. Web developers earn £30,958.C# developers are getting an average of £35,125 and C++ developers are paid £38,724. Java developers, on the other hand, earn £35,752.
Mathew Iveson at CV Screen said, “It is clear that demand for IT professionals has fallen dramatically, and with unemployment rising we have found that candidates are now being more realistic with their salary expectations."
“There are some bright spots where demand remains strong especially for candidates with strong .Net, SharePoint, Java or PHP skills.”
