State-of-the-Art Shopping Centre Opens in Leicester

Britain's most technologically advanced shopping centre has launched in Leicester at the newly renovated Highcross complex.  The building's entire IT infrastructure is built on technology from Cisco Systems, plus everything from IT and communications system to security , energy metering and ventilation.


The £350 million shopping centre is dubbed as the biggest regeneration project of Leicester.  It has over 120 new stores, a cinema and various restaurants and cafes. The center is capable of controlling its own temperature and ensuring that ventilation is used over air conditioning system where possible. Highcross will also be religiously monitored by 500 cameras through CCTV network to guarantee safety and security in the building.
