Oracle Acquires Primavera Software

Enterprise software company Oracle proclaimed its plan to purchase Primavera Software, a leading provider of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions. The deal is anticipated to be finalized by the end of this year.


The acquisition is aimed to speed up Oracle's drive to deliver mission-critical operational applications. With the deal, Oracle wilol be providing the first comprehensive enterprise project portfolio management solution which aids business organizations in sharing out the best resources, cut down costs, meet delivery dates and make effective decisions, all by using real-time data.



Primavera CEO Joel Koppelman revealed that Primavera will be turned into Oracle's global business partner, remaining as a project management software product developer. Its employees and management are expected to join Oracle to form a global business unit (GBU) focused on Enterprise PPM, and to help guarantee a smooth transition for Primavera customers and partners.
