MySpace Enhances Self-Serve Ad Service
MySpace is currently expanding its self-serve ad service through launching MyAds. The new platform allows users to establish an account and start targeting ads to a specific demographic. It also enables users to choose between a 728×90 or 300×250 ad unit and build an ad through pre-built templates and a Flash tool.MySpace has been employing a service called hypertargeting which lets brand advertisers micro-target users with ads. Hypertargeting enables advertisers to focus on ads based on the interest posted by MySpace users on their profiles. With MyAds, users can choose between 728 x 90 advertisment or a 300 x 250 spot. The system also allows users to upload their own graphic, or create one from scratch with their private ad builder.
MySpace ads are are charged on a cost-per-click basis. Ads are highlighted depending on the largest CPC rate stated by the advertiser as well as relative click information.
