Google Plans to Hire Additional 360 Staff

After announcing its plans to trim down 200 job redundancies, Google is now planning to hire 360 more staff. Vacant positions include software engineers, sales and marketing positions, and even Foodservices Supply Chain Manager at Google's Mountain View, California headquarters.

Google admitted to have hired more people to one job, thus the need to lay off some employees. Last January, Google declared it would axe 100 full-time recruiters and another 40 positions due to its declining broadcast radio advertising business.

As of December 31, 2008, Google has 20,222 full-time employees. With the recent lay offs, its workforce may be chopped down a bit, but still leaving a vast number of competent workers. Google's manpower was only 10,674 back in 2006.
