Google News Features Text Ads

Google has made yet another breakthrough in online advertising and decided to add text ads to Google News search results. Google has never put ads in its news aggregation since its beta launch in April 2002.

Google has been increasing advertising throughout its services like YouTube and Google Image Search. The company is offering free services and is successfully generating revenue from its wide range of advertising schemes.

Josh Cohen, a business product manager at Google, said, "In recent months we’ve been experimenting with a variety of different formats, like overlay ads on embedded videos from partners like the AP. We’ve always said that we’d unveil these changes when we could offer a good experience for our users, publishers and advertisers alike, and we’ll continue to look at ways to deliver ads that are relevant for users and good for publishers, too."

Google News is an automated news aggregator, introduced as a beta release in April 2002. It is available in different versions for over 40 regions in 19 languages. The service displays news articles appearing within the past 30 days on various news websites.
