Facebook Users Collaborate to Produce Short Film

A group of Facebook users are set to create a short length film which will showcase their talents in graphics and visualization. Intel has launched an animation project named "Mass Animation Project" which aims to help the users finish the film. It will be directed by Yair Landau, former vice chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment.


Facebook users who wish to join will be asked to download a trial version of Maya, a high-end 3D computer graphics and 3D modeling software package. This is often used in films and TV industry, as well as for computer and video games, architectural visualization and design. Users will then be given access to the script in order to animate a small section of the film.
