Ask.com Enhances Relevance and Speed

Ask.com, an internet search engine, will be upgraded to increase its popularity in a market ruled by Google. The web site will now offer  more refined search results with a faster speed and a modified layout.

In addition, Ask.com's transformation includes an enhanced ability to root out data from web pages and a wider variety of sources for searches about entertainment, jobs, health and reference information. The upgrade is aimed to bring back the feature that brought the site to its peak once. This feature uses semantic technology in interpreting questions and providing significant answers found on the web.

Ask.com is formerly known as Ask Jeeves. The search engine supports a variety of queries in plain English (natural language), as well as traditional keyword searching.  It was founded 12 years back with three venture capital firms cashing in. The site has localized services in the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan.
