UK Ranks 10th in Global IT Pool

Based on a study by the International Telecommunications Union, UK is trailing off at the 10th place in information and communications technology (ICT) usage among other developed countries. ITU used 11 indicators to gauge how advanced the 154 countries are when it comes to information technology. 
 

Sweden tops all of the countries, followed by South Korea, Denmark and the Netherlands. ITU also used a new tool, ICT Price Basket, which  " measures and compares ICT prices across countries, ranking them based on the relative price of the ICT services, giving a comparison of service affordability."

 

ITU added, "The cost of making a phone call or surfing the internet can influence the use of these technologies".

 

When measured using ICT Price Basket, UK ranks 14th. US, France, Germany, and Japan takes the lead.
