Small Firms Lacking Web Search Strategy
Small Firms Lacking Web Search Strategy
Over a third of small and medium sized businesses have no search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy to promote their web sites higher in search rankings, according to new research from web hosting giant Fasthosts.
Fasthosts chief marketing officer Steve Holford said that SEO is still being overlooked by too many businesses.
The firm's Online Search For Business survey found that, although the proportion of UK businesses that do not submit their sites to search engines has fallen from 49 per cent in 2006 to only 17 per cent in 2009, many business owners are still in the dark about how search results are compiled.
