Rackspace blows away cloud computing myths

Managed hosting provider Rackspace has launched a new web site designed to answer enterprise customers' questions about cloud computing. The firm's Cloud Clinic features FAQs, news and articles, video presentations and a 'top 10 cloud myths' section, among other resources.


Rackspace chief strategy officer Lew Moorman explained that some customers need to be taught that cloud storage is perfect for large files such as videos and photos, but not for databases or when super high-speed access is essential; similarly, in cases where there are specific security or regulatory concerns, a dedicated server would be preferable to virtualised cloud servers.
