Windows 7 Release Candidate Sparks Interest from Web Users
Microsoft's offering of Windows 7 Release Candidate triggered an overwhelming interest from web users. Net Applications reported a 22 percent increase in usage of Microsoft's latest operating system. The new OS debuted last week, following its release to MSDN and TechNet services subscribers. Microsoft did not disclose the number of RC copies that have been downloaded this week. The release is expected to attract small number of users because of the changes made after a server crash last January, but an upward flow is to seen coming.
Microsoft has opted to keep an unlimited download cap and has decided to to make the RC available for three time longer than the beta version.
Quite expectedly, Windows 7 recorded an increase in download last weekend. The OS is estimated to keep the same trend in the forthcoming weeks.
