Vodafone Gives Up T-Mobile Bid
Vodafone has rescinded plans of acquiring T-Mobile. A representative from Vodafone said its chairman is not even aware of any buyout deal being worked on between the two firms.T-Mobile statistics have declined over the past few months. Acquisition rumors have been floating around lately, and Vodafone as well as O2 are reported to be interested with the mobile network operator.
O2 is the current leader in the UK market, recording a 27 percent market share. Vodafone, on the other hand, is trailing behind by 25 percent. T-Mobile is struggling with a mere15 percent market share, and selling the company to either of the top two industry players will definitely boost their shares.
Meanwhile, Orange has renounced any plans of procuring T-Mobile, despite being the 3rd among all network operators, with only 22 percent.
