Swedish Engineers Found iPhone3G Reception NOrmal

Swedish engineers who tested iPhone claim that the unit is providing normal reception.  According to the test results, the iPhone's 3G transmission and receiving results were normal.
The engineers at Bluetest in Gothenburg, Sweden, tested iPhone3G against a Nokia N73 and a Sony Ericsson P1.  They concluded that although the P1 was slightly better at receiving signals and the N73 a little bit better at sending signals, the difference between these two famous 3G phones and the iPhone 3G was insignificant.  The degreed antenna engineer performing the tests pronounced the 3G's capabilities as "completely normal."

The testing equipment used is comparable to which FCC and mobile phone manufacturers used to ensure that their phones are able to properly send and receive signals without interfering with other devices. These tests only tested the iPhone 3G hardware. The results may be average, but there are several factors that may be involved as well, including the device firmware and software.
