Security Analyst Warns Against Browsing Through Firefox
According to Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer of security firm F-secure, people should not be browsing the web using a malware infected Firefox. Hyponen said users who have installed Firefox on their Windows operating system are at a huge risk.Firefox has been considered to be more safe than Internet Explorer, but it appears that Mozilla's browser is quite too risky as well. Hyponen's statements follow a claim by security company Secunia that although Firefox has far too much flaws than other browsers, it is able to patch rather quicker.
Hyponen said, "A vast number of the attacks are for Windows, because the majority of the users are on Windows, that's the logic. If you're really worried just don't use Windows - there's plenty of alternative."
"Same thing applies to your web browser. You don't want to surf the web with Firefox because most of the attacks now are targeting Firefox and older versions of Internet Explorer, so don't use those."
