Premier Foods Attributes Growing Profits to IT Transformation

Food manufacturer Premier Foods reported an increase in profits led by its IT integration scheme.

The firms group turnover during the first half of this year boosted by 3.5 percent.  One key factor is the increased cost savings from a recent ERP programme which considered critical to the consolidation of the Hovis and Campbell's businesses into Premier Foods.

Premier Foods’ group turnover amounted to £1,248.2 million. Its brand sales, on the other hand, rose by 8.3 percent.

With the firm’s progress, CEO Robert Schofield still sees a bleak economic future.

"Cost inflation remains an issue which we will continue to offset through pricing and efficiency savings. Our integration programme, which is nearing completion, remains on track,” Schofield noted.

The integration of RHM and Campbell was successfully carried out through an ERP programme involving a group-wide implementation of SAP software.
