O2 Plans to Cut iPhone Prices in UK
O2 is reported to have plans of slasing down prices of the iPhone 3G in the UK. The move is attributed to the impending release of iPhone's new model.Reports say that, come early May, the iPhone 3G will be free to those on £35 per month and £45 per month packages. The 16GB unit is originally available to customers on the £75 per month package for free. The 8GB on the other hand is free for those who are on the £45 per-month or over plans.
O2's move follows reports on the release of the latest iPhone unit and T-mobile's step to chop iPhone prices in Europe. Apple has not disclosed details of the new iPhone as of yet, although a lot of speculations have emerged on the lighter and smaller version of iPhone.
The internet-connected phone was announced on January 9, 2007 and was initially introduced on June 29, 2007 in the US. On July 11, 2008, the iPhone 3G was released. It supports faster 3G data speeds and Assisted GPS.
