Mozilla To Release Firefox Update In June
Mozilla is finally set to release Firefox updates, after a series of issues which choked the release of the browser's last two betas.Firefox Director Mike Beltzner was bouyant about the browser's release candidate timeline, and said the release could be scheduled on May 20.
"We'll check back against schedule on Tuesday [May 19], but (it) looks like the finish line is very much in sight!" Beltzner said.
About three weeks back, Mozilla circulated the final beta of Firefox, during which the firm was still deciding its final release.
If Mozilla releases just one RC for Firefox 3.5, the completed browser could be made available in June. However, the firm would probably need various release candidates to tackle flaws in the Firefox version.
Net Applications reported Firefox garnered 22.5 percent of the browser market in April. Mozilla said Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 was downloaded by 650,000 users. The company is optimistic the numbers could go up with the final release of the browser.
