Mozilla Pushes Firefox 3.0 Update
Firefox 2.0.0.16 users will be prompted with an automatic update to Firefox 3.0. Starting today, about 70% of users with the latest version of the browser will be asked to get the update depending on the server load. Users will be notified to get the update and will be given 24 hours to either accept or decline the offer. However, should users decide to decline, they will still be getting repeat notices several weeks later. Those who choose to keep their old browser after upgrading to 3.0.1 can download and reinstall 2.0.0.16. Mozilla will support the older edition with security patch updates until mid-December.Firefox is reported to have 19.23% of the recorded usage share of web browsers as of July 2008, making it the second-most popular browser in current use worldwide, after Internet Explorer. Its features include tabbed browsing, a spell checker, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, and an integrated search system that uses the user's desired search engine.
