Mozilla Launches Firefox 3.5 Preview
Mozilla Launches Firefox 3.5 Preview
Mozilla has built a preview of its Firefox 3.5 version instead of a release candidate. The browser highlights patches for a number of vulnerabilities and enhancements on video and audio playback.Firefox 3.5 preview is available to 800,000 beta testers and is deemed ready for everyday browsing. The browser's developers have not put up the final touches yet; thus disqualifying the browser from being launched as a release candidate.
However, Mozilla plans for a release candidate this summer. It was originally set on June and as public release weeks after. The company claims it had to ensure the quality of the browser rather than meeting the timeline.
Among the new feature of Firefox 3.5 are HTML 5-based capabilities for audio and video, offline caching, HTML drag-and-drop functionality, and CSS enhancements.
