MoD Signs Rackspace Server Deal

The Ministry of Defense has sealed a deal with Rackspace Hosting, integrating military recruitment websites into a single server. 
 

Rackspace will deliver a managed service to the Joint Server Farm (JSF), an infrastructure of MoD websites from the Army, Royal Air Force and Navy. The firm is already hosting the infrastructure for MoD’s Army.net service. 

 

The deal further requires Rackspace to establish a firewall and breach detection system for the department. A 100 percent service level is also to be expected under the terms of the agreement.

 

JSF is used for MoD websites that are being accessed by the public. These include recruitment, administration, public information, and cadet websites.
