Microsoft Releases Service Packs for Virtual Studio 2008Service packs for Virtual Studio 2008 software development platform and .Net Framework 3.5 programming framework has been released by Microsoft Corp. last Monday.

Microsoft Visual Studio is the main Integrated Development Environment (IDE) from Microsoft. It can be used to develop console and Graphical user interface applications along with Windows Forms applications, web sites, web applications, and web services in both native code as well as managed code for all platforms supported by Microsoft Windows, Windows Mobile, .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework and Microsoft Silverlight. The 2008 version was released last November. Service packs for this version are available immediately for download.

Partner Product Manager, Shanku Niyogi, said, "With Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1, you can now connect directly to SQL Server 2008 and you can develop against that." With the release of the service packs, developers can more more quickly deploy rich client applications to a broader audience. Services connecting to these applications will have as much as a tenfold performance improvement when running Internet Information Services 7.0.
