Microsoft Joins Forces with HP to Build Communication System

Microsoft and HP have teamed up to build and foster an integrated communication system. The project will be outlined for combined messaging, video and voice communications, which will cost both companies $180 million.

Ann Livermore, executive vice president of HP’s Technology Solutions Group, said, “Customers can lower costs and rapidly enhance employee productivity with unified communications and collaboration from HP and Microsoft."

“We provide customers with solutions that are rich, intuitive and accessible from anywhere on nearly any device.”

The collaboration will open doors for HP in the IP iphone business, with the the use of HP's ProCurve range of networking products. Microsoft, on the other hand, will administer the software support through Office SharePoint Server, Exchange Server and Office Communications Server.
