Microsoft Claims New IE Faster Than Rival Browsers
Software company Microsoft claims its new browser performs better than other rivals. Microsoft released a report where it justified how it tests browsers in-house and reiterated it doesn't believe that "benchmarks accurately compare the players."Microsoft asserted, "These benchmarks necessarily characterize only a narrow set of the browser functions in a very constrained way. End users, however, do not operate in a controlled environment."
IE8 Release Candidate 1 was tested against Google Inc.'s Chrome 1.0 and Mozilla Corp.'s Firefox 3.0.5. The test established the time it takes experimented browsers to render 25 most viewed web sites.
IE8 emerged as the fastest in delivering 12 of the 25 sites. Chrome is trailing behind by rendering only nine sites, folloed by Firefox browsing only four sites.
