Metropolitan Police Crime Maps Now Up and Running

The online crime map specially built for Matropolitan Police is now ready for use. The tool  shows crime figures in London by ward, and colour codes each area according to whether it is a high, average or low crime area. The developers of the tool aims to give users a general idea of the crime in their area, and to offer information on the number of crime committed each month.  


Metropolitan Police Crime Map is built on Google Maps and and is intended to drive full awareness on the problems affecting the London residents. The Mayor of London has also proposed to enhance the features of the tool and include showing the true crime levels in every neighborhood. However, his plans have been opposed by privacy groups and estate agents.
