Lenovo to Release Ultrathin Laptops
Lenovo plans to build super thin laptops to battle the increasing popularity of netbooks. The laptop, known as IdeaPad U350, will sport energy-saving Intel processors and will be as ultraportable as netbooks.
The U350 will be embedded with Intel's Pentium SU2700 chip, running at 1.3GHz with 2MB of cache. A four-cell battery and 13.3-inch display will also be featured in the mobile device. Lenovo did not disclose as of yet if users can upgrade to Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 7.
Prices of the U350 will start at US$649, which is as affordable as the most popular netbooks sprouting in the market today. Lenovo claims users will get to enjoy more features from the U350 than any other netbooks. The U350 will be released as a primary PC, while netbooks, on the other hand, are designed as secondary computers.
